I wonder if among the ruins of their once proud civilization will the savages erect a statue of Ronald Reagan, their dread anti-tax God?

Off to a girls vacation with [info]titti and many other Harry Potter & SD Comicon friends. Hopefully, they'll catch the escapees from the local Indiana State Prison while I'm gone.

So I feel the need to post that yesterday there was a dead baby bat on my steps....and I wish it was alive. Iv loved bats since I was little. i took out books on them all the time when going to the librery was cool, and feed the fruit bats outside on my terrice. Then yesterday I leave for work...and a tini cute little baby was on my step :( I almost thought it was an oddly shaped leaf but it was thick. I ran back inside and woke up my hunny to tell him it may be a bat and he needed to clean it when I was gone. I looked it up online and sometimes they look dead cause their cold, but it was dead :(

How awsome would a pet bat be! I thought...what if it loved fruit loops? and I could name it Batty after Fern Gully!! ahhhh I want a baby bat! It was too cute and too sad though, and Im still thinking about it lol.

Heres my future baby! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70wuAWxOEZA&feature=related

I cant wait to have a real apt and have a begal!!!

Went to the beach today! Cold rainy days are the best days to go because you more or less have the whole place to yourself, and the overcast skies make the ocean reflect silver. It's like a sea of mercury! Have a photo ♥

Like last time, there were massive blue sea jellies. A young couple were poking them and returning all the living ones to the water; CUTEST DATE EVER. What surprised me more than the jellies was the fact that about a dozen puffers had also washed ashore.

The gulls were having a field day pecking these things' brains out through their earholes (I took photos but I'll spare ya). Spent the rest of the day Op shopping, writing, and eating Eggs Benedict. Lovely day!

And because all this beach talk reminded me: [info]sarahofcroydon, here's that picture of Hugh Jackman I was talking about.

Also happened across some serious TMI. Seriously people, if you're going to fuck in a car in broad daylight with the doors open, DO NOT GET COMPLETELY NAKED. Aye... ಠ_ಠ

I bought a weekend pass for the Melbourne Anime festival. I'm not sure why, seeing as I don't particularly like anime anymore, but there you have it. Who else is gonna be there? ♥

Now I feel the need to mention this because on the way home today I heard a song on the radio and thought "that song is so me." Then when the song was over I thought about it and realized that I have got major problems if I think that song describes me or is my theme song.

Okay so according to people, this is mine and Momo's theme song:

"Blame it on the goose,
gotcha feelin'loose,
Blame it on petron gotcha in the zone,
Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol,
Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol.

Blame it on the vodka,
Blame it on the Henny,
Blame it on the blue tap gotcha feelin' dizzy,
Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol,
Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol."

Then tonight I'm coming home and I hear this playing:

That petron, tequila, I'm drunk off margaritas
That petron, tequila, me and my mamacita!

Hey girl where yo drink we gonna all get real drunk tonight
Hey girl I got pot we can all get fucked up!

And by the end of the night I'ma have you drunk and throwin' up
And by the end of the night I'ma have you so fucked up!"

And I think "zomg, that's totally my theme song!" Really?!

...I'm like three shots and a flask in my coat away from AA.

Ooooohhh boy.. *swoon*

I finally found a decent rinoa fabric online. Its a little light in color and not as thick ribbed as i would like, but i can always lightly dye it darker and its pretty damn good! Im going to look in the fashion district and if i cant find anyting, at least i have this!

emergency cookies

Despite major posting fail, it's not like I haven't been fannishly active the past few weeks -- it was just in the going-to-things type area and not spending time online (okay, that's not true of the last few days due to an HP fic that I can't stop reading, but still). I attempted to go to see Public Enemies and the 4th of July Fireworks with [info]svmadelyn, [info]kalpurna, [info]talitha78, and [info]norabombay plus Kalpurna's roommate. The movie happened, but due to some restaurant reservation shenangians, we saw the fireworks reflected through a window across the street. Oh well, there's always next year! Although they started early, which was totally cheating. I went to the Taste of Chicago with my sister [info]rhiko and [info]elizbot, ate ridiculous things, took even more ridiculous pictures, and called our mom from the top of the Hancock Tower to congratulate her on taking her RN boards (which she passed, hooray!). I also marathoned the rest of Kuroshitsuji over the holiday weekend, and ended up making emergency cookies because you can't watch this show and its endless parade of tea and pastries without wanting some yourself.

This past week, I attended a preview screening of the Leverage season opener, about which I will say nothing spoilery except AWESOMEAWESOMEFOREVER. Sometimes I forget that non-fangirl people watch these shows -- it was a pretty diverse crowd. Not diverse enough to hide the row of other fangirls in front of us, though. We were trying to figure out if they were actually fangirls, since we saw an LJ icon on someone's screen, but then we heard the phrase, "Jensen's ass" and that pretty much solved that debate.

This weekend was a dinner party at [info]kalpurna's place -- dinner was awesome, and there were a lot of new-to-me bandom fangirls (including two delightful ladies from New Orleans who were sadly only visiting for the weekend). As usual, I think I got half real names, half LJ names attached to faces, which makes it kind of hard to write up about, but suffice it to say, it was fabulous and great to hang out with everyone.

And now I am SO EXCITED for the new Harry Potter movie -- I keep seeing the movie advertisements on the sides of buses and it fills me with glee. I'd say the last time I heavily read in HP was about five years ago, but I still read the odd fic now and then, and there's something comforting in returning to an old, familiar fandom.

All these years I've been wondering what Banjo Tooie was like.  I never got the game back when it first came out and in later years, though I bid on the game on ebay, I usually got outbid.  I never fought too hard for it.  But after replaying Banjo Kazooie recently, I bid on it again and won.

And...I'm glad that I waited this long to play it.  I wasn't missing much, I really don't like it.  XD  The game surprised me in how dark and depressing it is.  Why did they feel the need to make it so gloomy?  I was looking forward to another light, cheerful game.   The level design is terrible, too.  Each world is too big and too busy..  BK had a lot of stuff to do in each world, but it never felt so cluttered and headache inducing.  I suppose I'll beat it though, since I went through the trouble of buying it.  Maybe it's just because I didn't play it when I was younger, so it doesn't have the nostalgia factor going for it.  Hopefully it picks up!
