So I used lj mobile and it didn't post my entry last week. Started the challenge at 190.3lbs and today I'm checking in at 188.9lbs....it's a start. I'm pleased. I managed to drink a lot of water and fresh fruit and veggies.

Burst Into Summer

I pretty much got derailed in my "journey"...I gained weight, but I'm back. It's the summer, so I don"\'t need to worry about writing papers or going to classes for three hours at a time. I'm excited to get back into the gym and see if I can still Zumba my ass off. The challenge is for the entire summer, and I have high expectations for myself. I've been slacking with drinking water and eating fresh vegetables, so I need to make sure I work on that. I have a plan set out for the fitness classes I want to attend, and I'm going to ask my family and friends to help keep me going. :)

So let's see what happens.
I'll post my starting weight tomorrow. Go team 10~

New challenge. I'm glad Shrinking Jeans decided to take a break from the team challenges. I really do need to focus on myself. This is a great time for that because I have a break from school. I'm checking in at 179lbs  today. I haven't seen that number in a long time, and I'm trying very hard not to freak out. I know it has to do with the ToM and all the Christmas cookies I ate this week.

My healthy living goals:
+ For the most part, I only drink water, but I forget to drink anything during the day. I need to keep up with keeping myself hydrated.
+ I want to eat more fruit. I used to make little fruit smoothies with plain yogurt when I wanted something sweet. It's better than a candy bar.
+ I want to go to the gym more. Not just for Zumba. I want to suck it up and try Yoga. I'm afraid I'll wobble and fall.
+ I would really like to run again.

The challenge is over, and I feel like I did a half-ass job...my ass was rather occupied with graduate classes but still. Many people on Shrinking Jeans have jobs and families to take care of, and they rocked the challenge. I'm ending this challenge at 175.7lbs. I started at 172.2lbs. I'm feeling bummed out about that. So! There is a Zumba class today, and there is something wrong with the back right wheel of my car (I hit a dip on the parkway), and I hope it can be fixed before I need to go. I really miss being able to go to an actually class, and I think I absolutely need to.

I'm definitely participating in the next challenge. :) Happy Holidays!

Okay, I'm back. I had way too much rl drama, and in the process, I neglected this journal. I am a firm believer in writing when stressed, but I just slacked off. My first semester of graduate school is done. So far I have one A. I hope to see another on my transcript later this week. I really love school, and I enjoy learning, but I seemed to have forgotten how crazy things get during finals time. I'm going to enjoy the next six weeks of no school. :)

The Challenge!

I am still part of the shrinking jeans, and I am thrilled to be spotlighted by my team mate Renee this week. I'm still hovering in the lower 170s, and omg I want to just get to the 160s. I have a week and a half off from work (I work at an all boys school), and I plan on getting in some time at the gym. As it turns out my preferred gym is being closed for construction Dec 20 - Jan 10, but I have another in town that I can attend. I'm going to miss Zumba like whoa.

So that's what been going on. I'll post Wednesday. Promise. <3

Holiday Hoedown

New challenge. I started my shift to getting my health on track like most people...New Years. January I focused on eating right, and in February I added working out. I have lost almost thirty pounds since then. For the past four months I've been maintaining the same weight. I want to lose though! It's rough. My mind tells me one thing, and my stomach tells me another...and just because something is vegetarian or vegan does not make it healthy! This is a big thing for me. Soy ice cream can be a treat..1/2 pint of soy ice cream is too much! My goals for this challenge are to get back the vigor I had when I started this process, I want to journal more (daily), I want to build up some upper body strength, and I want to stop hovering at 173-171lbs.

Challenge starting weight: 172.2lbs.

This has definitely been a challenge, but I'm getting back into the hang of things. I went to the Gym three days in a row (body sculpt, cardio boot camp, and zumba then had a grad class yesterday), and I'm going back for Cardio Sculpt after work today. I was so thrilled to be part of the pink tribe. :) Much success in the future ladies.
